  • @flwwhtrbt@mastodon.social Thank you for sharing and articulating this so clearly. It's such a terrible shame that even here on the fediverse where there is no algorithm and everyone has so much choice about what they see, some people (men) still go out of their way to be so unnecessarily nasty and exclusionary.

@flwwhtrbt@mastodon.social Great article dude, you totally read my mind! I was reading and just started wondering if there had been any studies in regards to this skew and then you posted them right below! ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ‘ Never liked the "Gamer" culture much anyway. You do you and fuck the labels! โœŠ

@flwwhtrbt@mastodon.social Just... just ugh. Props for highlighting it, we all really should come together and call this kind of shit out when it occurs.

@flwwhtrbt@mastodon.social a little light at the end of this tunnel: my younger cousins who play Valorant seem to be having a better experience than my wife did growing up playing similar online games. I think the younger social-native generation is learning how to be better internet humans faster than millennials did. Obviously this canโ€™t possibly be 100% true, but I like to imagine we can get better.
