@thaodan yup 100% agree on all of that. And popular clients have gotten better thankfully!
Been using FluffyChat since they implemented Thread support awhile ago and it's been smooth experience (even for spaces).

@thaodan I do struggle with explaining decentralization to non-techy people though. It can be off-putting to others in my experience. I realized that just pointing to a server's registration form without getting too deep into it works the best.

@dlsl I think Matrix sufferers from to fragmentation when it comes to clients. For example it would help if there would be a native library that all clients can use that also takes care of encryption at the same time. It's kinda the reverse of the situation of what IRC has with IRCv3..
