when i do get that new set of speakers though I need to setup that sony pixy system (well, not quite, it was a set of separate upgrade components that sony made to match the pixy's but they were all standalone mini-components) in my workshop and then sort out some sort of room streaming system. something like the wiim pro will probably handle this well, I can run a pair of splitters on the output of my smsl su1 that's on my pc, run one leg to my sony qs amp and the other to one of the wiim pro's and then I can run another one on the seperate pixy setup. though tbh the dac in the wiim pro is supposed to be as good if not better than the smsl su1 so i could probably just run the optical spdif from my pc straight to the wiim pro and then line out to my amp and skip the splitters and probably sidestep latency/syncing issues with doing room audio

i also need to decide which room is gonna be the 'workshop', hmm, i have a spare bedroom but it's carpeted and i don't really wanna be doing shit that's gonna make a mess there it'll be an absolute right twat to clean up, but i don't really need room audio syncing if i setup a desk in my living room or dining room that said the dining room is probably gonna be the games room/etc. since at my last place the only time i ever sat at the dining room table was with frends to play battlefleet gothic lol, i'll probably setup the living room to be the lounge though i wanna avoid getting a tv as much as i can.
