@IcooIey apart from the standing stone, it's pretty much all the history of colonisers, which is always far easier to see that the history of (more) native peoples. and there are long periods where there's not much material evidence at all, or at least not much that's so visible. sometimes it's just parch marks if you're lucky! there is an iron age hillfort up above it all which is more what you could call indigenous, but that's the sort of thing that yes: one doesn't stumble onto. or rather: one does but might not know it!
