Lots of very serious things going on in the world and they've put this right near the top for the best part of today, an editor chose to focus on this for one reason or another, right?

Yes, because it combines three newsworthy items: the two I've mentioned already *and* a terrorist attack (and the arrest of the terrorist so *four*, arguably). EDIT: [Polanski has now apologised](https://www.standard.co.uk/news/london/zack-polanksi-golders-green-suspect-arrest-apology-b1280747.html), so he's implicitly acknowledged he was wrong to make the criticism.
