In understand the principle behind "JS everywhere". We're stuck with it for client-side scripts so might as well use it everywhere so we only have one language to learn. Another take which I find infinitely more valid is that JS is a bad language with bad features and in order to mitigate its harm we should *only* use it where we are stuck with it, and use basically anything else in all other situations.
