My first OSR campaign became defined by spreadsheets, logistics, and corporate org charts. One of my players at one point said 'I am joint-owner of a 250,000 GP criminal empire... I'm not going into a fucking dungeon. Tony Soprano doesn't rob off-licenses; he has goons who pay him a cut' I really do feel that, in any D&D campaign, there is a point where the mechanics cease to be relevant and it becomes about the physical logistics of managing a fictional enterprise.

@DarkestKale One of my favourite jokes in all of cinema is the film Conan buying himself an absolutely absurd hat, getting drunk, and then he wakes up the following morning and his hat has gone. Perfect.

@DarkestKale shades of Jeremy from Peep Show really... he comes into some money and spends it all on drugs, shoes, and indian dinners so large that he can't finish them.

@DarkestKale @Taskerland GURPS! If you wanna keep the money, ya gotta spend the points. Otherwise you had a great time and now you're poor again.
