I woke up yesterday to find I had a message from one bank I use warning me that I was about to go overdrawn.
I immediately opened up an app from another bank so that I could make a transfer. It didn’t look like there was going to be a problem until the app told me to find a card reader and go through the process of authorising the transaction. Grrrr. Been a long time since I had to do that.
Many hours later, I’ve located a card reader, inserted new batteries, and am all ready to go. I open up the app again, re-enter the transfer details, and… it doesn’t prompt me to use the card reader, it simply makes the transfer happen.
So…. please explain to me: What is the point of card readers, if you can simply wait a few hours to avoid having to use one?
