@Broadfork I think the wind thing is probably right. The stream is at the bottom so not a gravity thing - it might just be so it's easier to reach in to fish out detritus and/or fill up a watering can for the top of the plot.

@Paul Ah well, it’s all I could think of. Pity your stream is at the bottom not the top but it means watering it will be good exercise. Good luck with the plot.
