This paragraph really jumped out at me, because it tells, in a nutshell, so much about what's wrong with american towns and suburbs - and the attitudes of the people brought up in this environment. They think there's nothing wrong with this barren wasteland of forced automobile use - and yet they absolutely love going to Europe and the rest of the world to places that are *the exact opposite* of this.
