@amokura@mastodonapp.uk I'm not sure that *is* what is being discussed is it? I'm afraid I'm not a specialist in land or housing law, but 'rent charge' is something else isn't it? Isn't this the page we need to be looking at? Which by my reading includes a leasehold agreement (which the Govt. but the FT's argument is reading as the same as a long-rental for stamp duty purposes, until they change it)? https://www.gov.uk/hmrc-internal-manuals/stamp-duty-land-tax-manual/sdltm00280
