Not all Jaguars were offered in Daimler-badged form. This unrealised prototype from 1986 explored how a Daimler version of the XJ-S might look. Note the alternative roof-line which does away with the XJ-S’ distinctive ‘flying buttress’ rear pillars. Snapped at the 2023 NEC Classic Motor Show.

@davidwilkins@mastodon.online my what an odd combo, lose the predominant feature of the XJS design in the butresses and then add a removable targa panel … so I take it this was a quick engineering job bolting a solid back window on top of a cabriolet chassis as a PoC
