@engideer@tech.lgbt @jdw@mathstodon.xyz I think their decision is just business, they're "using" them more than "supporting" them but messed up nonetheless. Tbh, I'm more aligned with framework values overall than any other company but I looked into it, they indirectly promoted DHH(which i understand the Nazi label) and officially sponsor Hyprland so they would lose the ethical badge. That said, overall I think the company ethically and environmentally a net positive compared other companies I have seen thus far

@Mr0 @jdw Well they did donate money/hardware to both and did promote both on official channels, which I would say counts as supporting. I know the decision was most likely entirely business motivated for them with little regards for anything else, but again, so was IBM's decision to sell and service computers for the NSDAP in the 40s. Not saying the severity is the same, but the reasoning behind and spirit of are. Especially given that there *are* companies who try to be ethical including on the topic of human rights and not supporting and normalizing fascism. For the record, tho, Framework was also my preferred brand and I really wanted to get a Framework 16, until I learned of all this. It took many people by surprise.
