@wilbr I know this makes me sound like a little bit of a jerk and it's not like I actually tell people this but - when people who recently-ish got into open source and then go "I've been using Linux forever! Like since 2010 when nobody used it". Yeah ok

@adr 🧙♂️in my day, I installed Red Hat from spare floppy disks I had laying around. My spare PC was in the closet so I'd sit on the floor and feed it disks. And then Google was barely a thing so when I had a problem I had no idea how to fix it. To be fair, Linux is a slightly more popular and socially acceptable option now than before Android and Mac were both POSIX, before WSL, before Windows became a joke and a hazard
