@buckfiftyseven I've been non-standard for a while, tiling window managers are my jam since back in the i3 days. I'm thrilled to see it getting a bit more popular.
I do kinda bastardize niri by putting into "always full screen" mode because splitting on my 13 inch monitor isn't actually realistic, and it makes niri feel a lot like using i3 or sway in tabbed mode.

@natecox I ran i3 a long time back. Since then I've run sway a fair amount, and hyprland. I was lured over to cosmic, but now I might jump ship again, to niri At some point I should figure out what my average time on a distro or window manager is. Probably something like six or 9 months.
