@dnkboston @claralistensprechen3rd Hear, hear! But how, how‽ Every time I'm in a grocery store, and see each aisle full of plastic containers end to end, I want to weep. The only way I can imagine this changing is to make the cost of plastic packaging far higher.

@ozdreaming @dnkboston Under today's circumstances, it is already higher and is taking aim at the far higher part. Now here's where book-time-travel will pay off: somewhere in a section of some library somewhere is where you can find old out-of-print books, some of which contain the original recipes for how to make these things in your own kitchen. Somewhere is Thomas Edison's recipe for "amberol" and you might find that one among his patents. Where to start the search? In vintage high school science books where you're also likely to find alarming experiments to perform with gasoline, even. I happen to have one of those, actually. The information is out there in public domain.
