LLMs don't have brains and cannot hallucinate. LLMs do not have feelings and cannot care.
"The liar cares about the truth and attempts to hide it; the bullshitter doesn't care whether what they say is true or false," Harry Frankfurt says in On Bullshit. So these unthinking and uncaring LLMs are, by definition, bullshit generators.

@thomasfuchs My take is that if it can't care then it certainly won't, therefore everything it says is bullshit. Even bullshitters can tell the truth, but it's often by accident.

@linuxandyarn Not to argue with the overall point, but by that logic, the LLM can't be a bullshit generator. If it can't have feelings or care, then it can't really bullshit. Can't removes the agency which computers never had to begin with. We have to stop humanizing these things even to dunk on them.
