Aside from the abysimal uptime Github currently presents, they -also- had one of the worst security incidents you can think of: An RCE via a simple “git push” with total loss of tenant isolation (via https://www.wiz.io/blog/github-rce-vulnerability-cve-2026-3854).
If GitHub weren't such a central piece of infrastructure, the current situation would be disastrous for their business.
I am afraid this is just the beginning. #github #security

@tisba@ruby.social Yep, and another issue points to significant, foundational problems at GitHub: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b13m-iuu4XU&feature=youtu.be And that‘s just part of the issue… the list goes on. Their GitHub Action runners are so unreliable that we went to a different provider for them in my current project and it **significantly** improved the happiness in the team. My main problem is: for commercial projects, I don‘t really see an alternative that is not self-hosted 🙈
