As I was taking a moment, I came across something a friend who is wiser than I wrote about punk: "part of the problem with gen x is many of them grew up with a satire of fascism. punk tried to fling the symbols of authority back in the hypocritical faces of the parents & teachers who "let it happen" or enabled it or kept fascism's structures & accidentally (mostly) made fascism look cool. 🧵 2/
