I scored a rubidium standard 10 MHz on Ebay. Anybody any fun ideas what we could do with it?
Unfortunately, they are not precise enough to run Haefele-Keating style relativity experiments, at least not in a straightforward way :)

Altough... if we stuck it to a balloon rising up 39 km (as we have accomplished in the past), the general relativistic time acceleration for this max altitude is delta t/t=gh/c² ~ 4E-12. That's tantalizingly close to something a Rubidium standard *could* somehow reach? #physics
