@ellane@pkm.social It's funny. My dad grew up very poor. As an adult with steady, decently-paid employment, he tended to be a "get all the options" kind of guy. On the other hand, while we weren't rich, we didn't want for necessities: I grew up to be fairly minimalistic and borderline offended to spend on or keep anything I didn't regularly use.
