@ShadSterling /s/thought/computation as desired; I'm generous with use of "thought" largely because I suspect that if I defined it narrowly enough to exclude what LLMs do, I'd also be excluding a lot of human processes that we call "thought".

@chaucerburnt sure, but you don’t need to define thought to know that a language model, which strictly models language and does not model any of the things a language might be used to express, does not model any kind of thought
