@RuthMalan@mastodon.social a unicellular, microscopic amoeba is “cognitively conscious” & it: - interacts with it’s surrounding environment - has multiple inputs (sensory) & feedback loops - responds to other members of it’s environment - most importantly, it evolves & grows, not by pillaging (other people’s work, shared + limited environmental resources or gainful human employment) LLMs use statistical computation to predict the next likely word, which is not autonomy, intention or cognitive consciousness.🤦🏾♀️
