@britt @zersiax The whole issue of being perceived or observed is another big can of worms for me. Most of the time I don't like it and do my best to avoid drawing attention to myself.
Sometimes if I think I'm being watched I suddenly can't walk naturally and lose all manual dexterity.

@drewtowler @zersiax 100% relatable. It’s ironic for me, as I run a large mastodon community - but I’d never, ever, be able to do this if it were in a work environment or a public group/club, etc. where I had to see folks and interact in person. I’m a 2-5 people in person max kind of gal. And even then, I need days of solitude and nervous system regulation time (lots of stimming) afterwards. The internet helps a lot with being perceived for me, it’s not perfect, but it allows me to not feel so overwhelmed (and avoidant, as you so well said) when in the presence of others. That feeling of “loosing all manual dexterity”… wow, you put that so eloquently. So very well said.
