Reading about how the Bundestag is moving from Signal to Wire, and (while I'd have appreciated the move to Matrix more, as it aligns with where *everyone else is going*),
It actually makes sense, to me at least, to trust your work-provided eMail address, provided and supported by the paid professional, more than a cell phone number
SS7 / bad telco actors can't really fuck with email domains (especially government ones) like they can phone numbers AFAIK

Especially as one becomes a more "interesting" phishing target, being able to rely on a (government provided) domain feels a hell of a lot more secure than a phone number At the very least, taking over a government domain feels like an op that makes a hell of a lot more noise than taking over a phone number, regardless of how briefly it's done
