@bammerlaan the best tip I ever got was that my tension was too tight. Basically, loosen your stitches by more than you think. You'll be able to see the anatomy of the stitch better and as you improve you can always adjust. Good luck!

@EdibleFuchsia I'd heard that beginners always stitch too tight, so I've been trying to avoid it... But you're right, I can probably still stitch even looser. I can always tighten up later!
