@jasaz We visited Tucson (from Alberta) over the new year a bit ago and took a day trip drive around the mountains to the east of town. Then we learned that if it snows on the peaks, the otherwise dry gulleys marked by the blue lines do indeed fill with water, and that this water flows *over* the roads. Not wanting to meet your lovely local SAR teams, we didn’t try to see if our rental could make it through but wisely doubled back and gave up on the loop.
