I camp at Baker Lake every year.
There's no place like it.
And every year I say to myself, if I were a designer, I'd assemble the palette of colors I see there - the blue-green water, the vibrant bright green moss, the dark evergreens, and the reddish brown bark and soil - and call it the Baker Lake Palette.
All my favorite colors in that landscape.
In August, the pristine water is just warm enough for a swim with a view of snow-capped Mt. Baker.

@shansterable yeah it's really a cool place. I did the lower part of the lake shore trail a few years ago in August and it was lovely then. But I liked this upper end better. And another plus-- no power boats this time of year. It was super quiet. I still can't get over the color of that river water though.
