@shansterable yeah it's really a cool place. I did the lower part of the lake shore trail a few years ago in August and it was lovely then. But I liked this upper end better. And another plus-- no power boats this time of year. It was super quiet. I still can't get over the color of that river water though.

@eugeneparnell I've hiked that Baker River trail a couple of times. I've done part of lake shore trail as well. How were the mosquitos and flies this time of year? In the past, I have found them almost unbearable at times.
