so what if you don’t throw away food if you get a 4 burger deal and eat it in a single setting. so what if you don’t throw away food if you eat a bag of chips and drink a can of cola every single afternoon. so what if you don’t throw away food if you put together a salad with way too much syrup and berries and honey for breakfast every day. so what if you don’t throw away stuff if you simply consume too much. so what if you gift people the cool toys collecting dust on your shelf if you keep getting new ones just for them to collect dust. if your immediate emotional reaction to these points is anger: that’s how they get you! that’s what this cycle is! you’re being tugged by companies that only want your money and you’re being conditioned into loyal customers that will not stop consuming! that’s the problem!

  • it’s not enough to just not throw stuff away, it’s not enough to simply keep things in good condition the root of this wastefulness problem is Excessiveness. the problem comes with suddenly being able to afford all the things you ever wanted and just swimming in borrowed wealth. this is what every developed country goes through when they get their turn on the economic miracle and it’s what every developed country is now dealing with the consequences of, when said borrow wealth eventually dries out
