Just got to the "eh, good enough" point of hacking the footer.
I wonder if I could get a kind of Hero banner to work. Only on the Welcome page that is

I merged the double headers. So now there is a big empty space at the top of the page which I can shove some more navigation items in at some point. I also set a background with a bit of blurring and it kind of slaps? I blatantly stole the Hero image from Space Leiden to test, but it would be cool to have something to break the monotony. What kind of imagery though? It feels a bit stereotypical to go for circuit boards or code to me
