Talking of things from my childhood that are eerier than I remembered, I had occasion to read the lyrics of "The Boys Are Back In Town" by Thin Lizzy today, and without the upbeat music they feel very ghostly. Who are these "wild-eyed boys that had been away"? It's almost impossible not to imagine them as ghosts that only the narrator can see, because he's approaching death himself. "The nights are getting warmer, it won't be long Won't be long 'til the summer comes Now that the boys are here again"
