Prepaid plans are meant to be the cheat code when it comes to mobile phone service. However more and more they are becoming just another scam. Take Noble Mobile for instance. They claim to “pay” you for not using your phone. They charge a base 50 dollars per month. And if you don’t use all your allotted data you get a discount. At most that discount can be 19 dollars! That means if you didn’t use your phone at all you have the privilege to pay them 31 dollars a month plus tax. Sure they claim to give you some “dividend” but this means you withhold taking any money off your 50 dollar a month bill. And you have to cash it out before you cancel. I find this plan borderline illegal. And a pure rip-off. For instance I use US Mobile and pay 25 dollars per line for 70 GB of data. If I use all my data (30 Gb more than Noble offers) I still pay 25. I don’t use any data ? I still pay less than Noble. Here is a screenshot using their “savings” calculator. When you shop for a new phone line please do research.
