@mason I'm inclined to take your word for this, but do you have a link to a piece you think crosses the line so I can see what you mean?

@jaystephens While his horror and anger over the genocide are understandable, the direction he took in the piece under fire here is not useful. For example, he writes: "The majority of Jewish people, however, have been deputised into whiteness." It's also unfortunate and ironic that he wrote it on Substack. I don't like linking Substack, but for this purpose I will: https://mattchun.substack.com/p/we-dont-mourn-fascists The whole piece attacks people for being horrified at another mass killing, and goes off the rails as it does so. The goal isn't to balance out the killing so equal numbers die - the goal is to force the killing to stop. Both that mass murder and Chun's article help the Zionists to twist the narrative about Gaza. He had several useful things in the article - mentioning Gvir's noose pin for instance. But the antisemitic bits he included throughout erased the value the piece might have had in inspiring people. We need to reach people who haven't taken a stand for Palestine. Was what he wrote going to do that? It felt more like it was normalizing violence. It seems like Chun himself might incorrectly conflate Zionism and Judaism, given how often he wrote "Jewish Zionism." He did the movement a disservice. We need more voices speaking out.
