Back in January, I had an endocrinology consult to update my HRT regimen that went…less than great.¹ At the time, I scheduled a consultation with a different provider for three months out; that appointment happened today.
The doc at my endo follow-up in January was *extremely* hesitant to change anything else about my regimen. The doc I saw today did a better job of listening to my concerns about the whole picture, and seemed to be much more "in touch" with the current research (very little) and attitudes around trans HRT.
Estrogen-wise, things are actually going *too* well. I got labs done a week ago, and my trough levels are higher than most providers shoot for (322 pg/mL = 1182 pmol/L). I've lowered my dosing a bit, and will re-check this in another few months to see where things level out.
Aside from that, I'll be tapering down on spiro over the next couple of weeks. A taper isn't strictly necessary, we are leaning in favor of being gentle to my body. After that, I'm planning to start progesterone. I have a follow up scheduled a month from today, and I'll likely check in a couple of months after that to see where everything lands.
🤞
