I recently switched from Pinboard to Mymarks. Importing my old bookmarks was not quite fire-and-forget. I wound up splitting the bookmark file into twelve files of 100 links, and had one that just wouldn’t import successfully. It wasn’t clear why. As an exercise, I decided visit every link in that file, which were all about 20 years old, and delete every link that didn’t work. Only 19 of the 100 were still correct, or redirected to something correct. The redirect pictured here…made an impression on me.
