@pms So you would just harvest the ripe pods, peel them and put the beens on a reck to dry for seed? I'm too greedy with my freezer space, tbh. There's so much veggies that do dry much worse than beens or loose taste or are not ideal for canning. Spinach, brokkoli and pea, for example, they get the prirme spots in my freezer. @Broadfork

    @levampyre I’ve got some bush varieties with small black seeds that I store dry. The pods need to start turning brown before I harvest. Once that happens I keep an eye on the weather. if we get a little frost they get covered, below-2C I harvest. When the autumn rain starts I harvest the whole plant, and dry them on top of my firewood stack. Then I pod them and dry the seeds further on trays beside the wood stove in our living room.
