@OldWoofian I had a gag like this in a short story I wrote where an intrepid scientist was suddenly struck with inspiration and ran up to their lab which surprisingly had a number of people oddly dressed in out of date fashion lounging around. The scientist is distracted by their presence and one says "Oh shit, we screwed it up!" and they all vanish.
