@xgranade @zkat yeah, that’s what’s been bizarre to me as well. i guess many people have done their own trial period but it often seems like there’s an extremely strong presumption it will let you go faster and that’s enough for people to embrace it.
like i feel like there was often this idea that if you’re writing a script to replace a manual process you should consider measuring it and make sure you‘re actually saving time but I don’t notice a lot of measuring going on.

@alys @xgranade @zkat heartened by how many people i know who are basically forced to use chatbots at work, and it just makes them hate the chatbot so much more "just try it!!" "I FUCKING DID"

@alys We're pretty much past the point of having to measure in many cases. It's not usable for everyone (for example there's no improvement in infra work in my experience), but for plain coding there's no presumption. I've finished in hours projects that involved months of slog before.
