I'm here for it. Apply it to cars. Go back to the 1957 Chevy Bel Air engine-wise, stuff a good transmission behind that, and surround it with modern structure and crumple zones. Interior, you get BUTTONS, and analog instrumentation (hopefully FULL) and the possibility for a MANUAL transmission. Go back to 1996 for engine/spark management; that's the only thing that should be computerized in the car anyway.
