#PennedPossibilities 999 — How often does your MC bathe or shower? Do others around them consider this to be of normal frequency? Why or why not? Are you running out of ideas? Outside of sex and horror scenes, I can't recall any instance of fiction focusing on bathing. At all. It's akin to including a paragraph about the protagonist taking a shit. (Which actually now sounds like something I want to make work :) But seriously--when have you ever interacted with a story that told you the character's morning routine? And then Jim brushed his teeth. There was a crusty lump of dried-up toothpaste that came out with his spurt of tooth gel, but he didn't bother to pick it off. Assuming it would just rehydrate from his saliva, he mashed it into his molars like any other bit of toothpaste. My MC bathes the best he can. Every day if possible. It's not top priority in life threatening situations.
