@rojun@mementomori.social it’s an Apple problem, not just FCP. I need it to handle formal and colloquial Indonesian and Malay in mixed forms and mixed language or rapid code switching delivery together with at least English and possibly other languages, and be able to distinguish between Malay and Indonesian. CapCut can handle this easily, Apple’s language software doesn’t at all, so far. Indonesians and Malaysians frequently code switch with English even in a single sentence. Not to mention the various accents across both languages. Apple doesn’t even support Indonesian in Siri. I was part of an early effort for this between 2018-2021 when I was with the App Store team and nothing has come out of it. They only just opened a vacancy for Indonesian language experts this year for Siri.
