  @rolle@mementomori.social Toimiiko toi kofi verotusteknisesti mementon ylläpitoon? Kysyn siltä varalta ettei tulisi yllätyksiä. Joku kirjoitti muistaakseni omasta konsultoinnistaan, ettei pysty tekemään sitä kofin tms avulla vaikka haluaisi, kun verottaja ei halua ymmärtää. En ole selvittänyt asiaa joten en tiedä.

The only reason I would care if the editor is written in Java vs Electron vs C++ is that I would notice how the memory got hogged, or the UI would think for minutes, or - rarely - it would be almost immediate (albeit missing half of the features and sometimes crashing completely).

  @jonathanhogg@mastodon.social Scratch is excellent. My kid's been using it. I used hypercard at his age and it was a lot fun. Had it not been because our teacher had acquired two macs into the class, and we could spend time before and after school, I don't think it would have been as fun. It's not just the tools, but also the environment and culture.

So for example, instead of sharing learnings one could withhold information in the hopes they'll get a leg up knowing it. When this becomes the norm in a team one could consider that a factor leading to contest cultures. Right?

I tried to search something on that but found only MCC that was seemingly binary in nature: either there is or isn't.

Sellanen mutu jäi, että esim turvallisuuskartoituksen voi joutua tekemään kehittäjä itse ja en menisi takuuteen etteikö tässä yritetä hyllyttää vastuuta FOSS kehittäjän niskaan, jotta kaupalliset toimijat saa slopata rauhassa. Oisin kaivannut vähän viitteitä, että mistä kohtaa varmentaa väitteet ja miksi ne tulkittaisiin niin. Nyt tätä on vaikeata osimoida.

  Yey, my new books have arrived! I was tasked to extend a glyph system to habdle unicode and bidirectional text in an in-house graphics framework. That rabbit hole got me interested in writing systems.
