Looking for some #linux help: I'm cross-compiling an out-of-tree #wireguard kernel module to backport to an older v4.9 system. During compilation I get a "WARNING: Symbol version dump ./Module.symvers is missing; modules will have no dependencies and modversions." warning, and when I try to insmod the .ko file, I get "no symbol version for module_layout". If I include Module.symvers (from matching linux-headers) the Wireguard build excludes the compatibility shims like "icmpv6_ndo_send".
