A visitor turned around after we showed her the chickens. She pointed and asked "what tree is this?" Our oldest kale, going on five years, got a serious pruning, down to main trunk and some branch stubs. The diameter of the main "stem" is just under 3 inches, pretty much the same as our six year old white peach tree. Grow perennial kale if you can, my friends. #kale #perennial #vegetable #gardening
