@sepcot@macaw.social that’s incredible. I remember watching that bike “breaking 2hr” thing only like 8 years ago? Where he didn’t get it but came close. I wonder how people are running faster now.

    @jsatk@sfba.social that was the Nike Breaking2 attempt in 2016. Eliud Kipchoge had a second attempt in 2019 in the Ineos 1:59 Challenge where he ran 1:59:40 in an unofficial record (non-race conditions). For a while it looked like Kelvin Kiptum would be the first to break it a race (he ran the 2:00:35 WR in Chicago 2023), but died in a car accident not long after.
