Taipei 101 has a unique feature: you can stand right next to the tuned mass damper. It's a 660 metric ton steel sphere hanging at the top of the tower. When the tower swings due to wind or an earthquake, it counteracts, reducing the amount the tower swings. Quite impressive. But. You can't lick it. :( #TripToTaiwan
