I think if Cook had stepped down 18 months ago, he would have been almost uniformly viewed as an outstanding success, *especially* in terms of how to transition a company away from a founder they're strongly associated with.
Now, at least outside of MBA school, it's going to be gold awards to fascists and Liquid Glass.

(To be clear, I think “almost uniformly viewed as an outstanding success“ is about a general read of his job on net. There are certainly plenty of things to criticize before this 18 month flame out; I’d start with the emphasis on services revenue, which I’d argue has come at the cost of overall experience.)
