...the coldest starts to spring on record were 1948 & 1935.
1948's average High & Low were -2.7°C & -12.4°C.
1935's were -2.3°C & -13.2°C.
(those are all about 5°C colder than this year)

...in Edmonton the path from winter to summer is not linear, and most years have lots of ups and downs. We don't really do "average". We can be 10°C in January, -20°C in March, 30°C in May, and 5°C in June. https://public.tableau.com/shared/W598NKF9Q?:display_count=n&:origin=viz_share_link
