I got to go back to Snowshill Manor, which is just as cool as it was last time (https://www.kryogenix.org/days/2017/10/15/charles-paget-wade-and-the-underthing/). Still impressed with the carved ivory ball inside another carved ivory ball.

@sil@mastodon.social I have a wooden elephant with a baby elephant inside, brought back from a holiday in India by an ex-colleague. He saw the artist carving them, using a sharpened ring-pull. I spent at least an hour today trying to put a point on three posts, using an axe.
